Wednesday Linkstorm
Happy bday to...AMERICA! Who's your favorite founding father?? Mine is George Washington (tall fella like m'self, plus pure of heart), but I love all of them. I mean, JEFFERSON, you guys. THOMAS JEFFERSON. Also BEN FRANKLIN. AHHH ALEXANDER HAMILTON, DUDES, FOUNDER OF THE NATIONAL BANK. All of them, just all of them. Anyway, abbreviated Linkstorm today cause I got patriotic stuff to do like go see Magic Mike and then attend a dance party with multiple fog machines.
Check out this list from The Millions of books coming out in the second half of 2012 and 2013. Oh sweet, there's one coming out from EVERY AUTHOR YOU LIKE. Seriously: George Saunders, Sam Lipsyte, Michael Chabon, Zadie Smith, Ian McEwan, Junot Diaz, Paul Auster, Alice Munro, Karen Russell. Dead guys Bolano and DFW and undead guy Tom Wolfe.
Here's Christoph Niemann's latest Abstract Sunday, not because it's relevant to literature, just because he's the best.
Your boy JJS on Southern novels and Absalom, Absalom!
And finally, today's best link, not to be missed, relevant to all of your Independence Day plans.*
*Just kidding, that was me tricking you into looking at the cover of The Lime Pit. Is Limepitting our generation's Rickrolling? Yes. (No.) Happy Fourth of July!
