“endangered” by Heather Lang-Cassera
endangered
the sun will rose-quartz
the sky as lizard tracks barbwire
their way throughout
the yellow desert daisies
tonight broken-glass
memories make night-new constellations
as siblings
like fallen pinecones gesture
toward everyone but themselves
are these clouds
what love might become
disappearing bighorn sheep
that whisper
with everything that has
been
unsaid
