Cal Freeeman was born and raised in west Detroit. He received his Bachelor’s in literature from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2002, and his MFA in 2004 from Bowling Green State University. His writing has appeared or is forthcoming in such journals as Nimrod , Commonweal , The Journal , Ninth Letter , and Drunken Boat , among several other publications. He currently lives in Dearborn, Michigan and teaches at Oakland University.
